More information: Park closures on 25 and 26 June 2026 due to Sorry Business

Work on the Uluṟu base walk will resume on Wednesday 10 June 2026 to repair damage caused by heavy rain in February and March.

To minimise the disruption to visitors, the walking track will be closed in sections, with alternative routes offered wherever possible. Repairs will focus on sections of the Mala and Lungkaṯa walks.

Works will be at Lungkaṯa in the mornings and move to Mala in the afternoons.

At times, there will be diversions and signage in place, and our team will be on the ground to support where possible.

We will do our best to keep the Mala walk open throughout the repair works, though small sections of the walk and some caves may be closed for short periods.

We ask all park users to continue to take care while using walking tracks in the park:

  • Watch your step, be mindful of trip hazards and take your time
  • Wear sturdy, comfortable footwear
  • Stay on marked tracks and paths and follow temporary diversions when provided

Work is expected to take up to 10 days and be complete by 20 June.

Thank you for your patience while we make the base walk a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
