Educational experiences
Turn your visit into a truly memorable learning adventure. We encourage school groups to take part in guided educational experiences that offer a rare opportunity for students to:
- hear traditional stories connected to the landscape
- learn about Tjukurpa (Aṉangu law and culture)
- discover how people, plants, animals, and Country are deeply interconnected.
These immersive experiences help students appreciate the significance of this World Heritage-listed Park, both for its cultural and natural values.
Cultural Elements
Central to this 1-hour session is an introduction to Tjukurpa—the traditional law that explains the creation of the land, governs relationships between people and Country, and underpins Aṉangu culture and responsibilities.
Students gain insight into how Tjukurpa continues to guide decision making and park management today, shaping everything from land care to visitor behaviour. Students leave with a deeper understanding of why Uluṟu–Kata Tjuṯa National Park is such a special living cultural landscape, and how the lessons learned here can be applied in their own lives and communities back home.
It’s an engaging and meaningful introduction to the park, its people, and how to visit with awareness and respect.
Mala Walk
Designed especially for students, this 2-hour guided walk takes your group along a beautiful section of the Uluṟu Base Walk, bringing classroom learning to life on Country.
As students explore, they will hear stories of Tjukurpa—the traditional law and creation stories of Aṉangu —and learn about culture, ancient rock art, and the deep connection between people and place.
Along the way, students will discover how Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park is cared for through joint management, as well as the park’s unique natural environment, including Uluṟu’s remarkable geology and diverse plants and animals. This walk encourages curiosity, respect, and a deeper understanding of Australia’s cultural and natural heritage.
