Media permits

All film crews, photographers, artists and sound recordists need a permit to carry out commercial work in Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park. You will also need a permit to use an existing image of the park for a commercial purpose.

If our park manager considers a story to be ‘news of the day’, then the requirement for news media to have a permit may be waived. Please contact the media team if you believe this applies to you.

Guidelines for media

There are a few guidelines that media need to follow while taking photos or videos in the park.

These guidelines ensure you can get the shots you want while respecting sensitive sites and Aṉangu cultural values.
