The Liṟu walk, which links the Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa Cultural Centre to the start of the Uluṟu base walk, is closed until further notice due to flooding following recent heavy rain.

While the Liṟu walk is closed, an alternative walking track has been opened following the old road that leads to Pulaṟi. Please note that Pulaṟi is a registered sacred site and a no-photo zone.

On reaching Uluṟu, walkers will join the Lungkaṯa walk, turning left to go to the Mala Carpark, or right to Kuniya.

The Liṟu walk is also the usual access route for people who hire bikes from Outback Cycling to reach the start of the base walk. While the Liṟu walk is closed, Outback Cycling will operate from the Mala Carpark.

Map of Uluṟu showing the Liṟu walk closed between the Cultural Centre and Mala carpark. The alternative walking route is marked, starting at the Cultural Centre, following the old road west before curving north-east to Pulaṟi (a no-photo sacred site), where it reconnects with the base walk. From this junction, arrows indicate continuing left (north-west) to Mala carpark or right (east) toward Kuniya..
